Paul & Ben welcome DR. BRUCE MACCABEE, one of the world's most distinguished UFO experts. Dr. Maccabee has worked on optical data processing, generation of underwater sound with lasers and various aspects of the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) and Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) using high power lasers. He has been active in UFO research since late 1960s when he joined the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP) and was active in research and investigation for NICAP until its demise in 1980. He became a member of MUFON in 1975 and was subequently appointed state Director for Maryland, a position he still holds. In 1979 he was instrumental in establishing the Fund for UFO Research. This was his first appearance on "Behind the Paranormal." The discussion ranged from the nature of UFOs to the controversial Gulf Breeze, Florida, cases of the 1980s. Dr. Maccabee also commented on possible paranormal photos sent in by a show field reporter.

While the Enos seldom ask what Paul calls "garden variety ghost hunters" to be guests on the show because he rarely takes them seriously, he and Ben felt that the PLA is at least trying to "break the mold" and become more credible than many other groups, especially with their planned Internet television show, A Paranormal Truth, and what they say is a new approach to what's becoming a tired and predictable activity. There was an interesting scientific discussion, but agreement eluded the day as Paul maintained his stance that the paranormal is outside the narrowness of modern science.

Another historic broadcast, but one filled with unexplained technical problems at two different networks, Paul and Ben once again joined Dave and Tom Jones of KAPS Paranormal for a sequel to the smash-hit broadcast of April 11 marking the 30th anniversary year of the shocking Rendlesham Forest UFO landings of 1980. A mostly different set of eyewitnesses, including former USAF personnel JOHN BURROUGHS, JIM PENNISTON and LARRY WARREN, joined our panel. Our returning experts were Nick Pope, formerly chief of the UFO desk at the British Ministry of Defence; Peter Robbins, co-author (with Larry Warren) of the only book on the Rendlesham affair ("Left at East Gate"); and debunker of the Rendlesham debunkers, Bill Birnes of the History Channel's "UFO Hunters" and "Ancient Aliens." In a particularly poignant and historic moment, Nick Pope apologized to the witnesses on behalf of the British Government for the lack of support they received after the incident. Between the second the third hours, the CBS uplink became unaccountably muffled, and panelists heard laughter. The show had to leave CBS and go to the all-Internet Para-X network, so on-air listeners lost the last hour. We're still trying to recover the podcast.

A legitimately ordained priest in good standing with the Diocese of Providence, R.I., Fr. Paul and Ben welcomed SHANE ENO (no relation), founder of The Danish Paranormal Society and The Paranormal Institute of Denmark, for a look at the state of paranormal research in Scandinavia. In Shane's native Denmark, for example, are forts occupied by the Germans during WWII, something North American researchers would never encounter. Now 46, Shane has been interested in the paranormal since he was a teenager, but a personal experience got him started in paranormal investigating in 1999.
